Who we are

updated 12 December 2007

We are a family. We are PapaJohn (as I call my hubby in blogland), me (the SmockLady or on this blog, MamaRae), and the children.

Mog

DD12: Blossoming into quite a little lady and scaring me very much in her beauty. She wants to be the mom; she wants to care for her siblings and often bosses too much, but she doesn’t want to brush her hair, get dressed, or make her bed - and especially doesn’t want me to remind her to do any of those. Typical. She is ever so dramatic (I wonder where she gets it?) in such a royal way. She has hormones that she doesn’t understand or want. Therefore, her world (the only world) often is on the verge of imploding. She is a great help to her father and me. She loves deeply and can be hurt even deeper.

Mog blogs and Mog makes.

Goro

DS10: A handsome young man; trying hard to be a young man and still be a boy. Fighting within the love he still has for all things Lego and his desire to ‘grow up’ a little more. Wanting to throw lizards and dirt at his sisters while balancing taking care of them, being the brother who cares and protects. Being annoyed by all his sisters but wanting to play with them too (but playing dolls and house and princesses, uh, gross). He is my science lover, my loves-to-learn child, my blow-up-the-house-with-chemicals child. He’s still my little boy and I love to be with him one on one. His thought process is incredible and that’s when it shows the most. I love the way he thinks. He is the color green. He’s bright and all things are wonderful. He is happy and excitable and active. He is as intense as the shade of every kind of evergreen tree.

Goro blogs too.

Birdie, my Birdie

DD8: the petite, the pretty, the picky, the outspoken, the strong, the fast, the mighty, the funny, the strong-willed, the most easily bruised of emotions, the wacky, the witty, the abstract, the sarcastic, the “everything must be handed to me on a silver platter” princess, the hair must be fixed, the “I can do it myself don’t tell me how” girl! She is the rainbow of fruit flavor. Every bright color is what makes this girl shine.

Princerella

DD6: Aptly named herself the mix between Princess and Cinderella. She is a Princerella. She is all things pink and purple and shiny and glittery. She only loves and she never hates. She is the deepest, most thoughtful child I have ever met. The first moment I saw her and we gazed into each others’ eyes I knew she was special. Those eyes of hers can pierce so deeply into any soul. It’s almost scary. She can read people like I’ve never seen before. It’s almost too much for me at times when she can figure out a person and what their intentions are. She is smart, but very quiet and shy. She is sunshine; she is warmth, and beauty, and pleasure, and pleasing, and contentment, and life itself! She has Cerebral Palsy and struggles with many things, but nothing will stop her. She sets her goals and she meets them, high. She understands much more than anyone gives her credit for.

CowBoy

DS3: more of a “wild indian” at times, but still a little CowBoy. CowBoy is always into everything. He’s ahead of himself and can not be kept out of anything. He knows when he does something he shouldn’t and uses those huge blue eyes and blinks up at us as if to say, “but I’m too cute for you to discipline me, right?” Wrong! He’s silly, oh. so. silly. He love monkeys and has recently decided that two more favorite things are ‘dinosaurs’ and apple juice slush from Sonic. And he thinks that his mama is the best thing in the world and cuddling every morning is a must.

Bairno

DS1 my wee bairn, thus - Bairno. He’s the cuddliest child in the world. A real “mama’s boy”. He is sweet, happy, lovable, huggable, soft, big, and always hungry. He seems to think Mama is sometimes the only one that can sooth away the stress and only Mama will do. He’s funny and thinks it’s awesome when he smiles at someone and they smile back. He loves playing on the floor with all those other children that love to play with him too. He loves his thumb. He loves to suck his thumb and play with his ear, or if yours is nearby he’ll play with it instead. He loves music and dancing and web-chatting with Grandma and Granddaddy. And all the remotes in the house belong to him. If you tell him they do not, he will correct you - loudly and clearly.

Me and Him

And last but not least me, the SmockLady, and PapaJohn. He, of course, would be the husband.
