Newsletter Subscriptions
If you’d like to keep up to date with the latest news about our TOG blogrolls this is where you can sign up for a monthly newsletter that will supply you with the latest and greatest and up-to-date-est news.
I have created three different lists. Depending on your use of the blogroll you may need to subscribe to more than one of them. Here is the rundown of what each newsletter will bring you.
The TOG Blogroll Newsletter will bring you any new news regarding the basic TOG Blogroll. This will include welcoming and introducing new members from the previous month as well as additional changes or information users may need about the blogroll.
This newsletter will include the blog names and the links to the new members so the blogroll members who use OPML import will be able to add these new members to their blog links. If you don’t know what an OPML import is and whether or not you use it, don’t worry about it. If you had to import the blogroll this way, you will know. This OPML import will most likely only affect bloggers who use the WordPress.com free blogs; they are not allowed to upload javascript to their blogs. This is an alternative for them. If you know of a TOG blogger who uses wordpress.com and isn’t on the list and wants to be, let them know they now have an option for joining us.
The TOG Blogroll (OPML-version) is strictly used for sending the new additions to those users. While this is a duplicate of what will be included in the main newsletter it is an easier way for just that info to be forwarded to you. It is optional, of course, but available if you want just this info sent to a separate e-mail used for that web-site. This will not include any news just a version condensed.
TOG Student Blogroll Newsletter is available for those who are registered for using the student blogroll AND their parent/s. There may be times in which it is more prudent to send out some info only to send info to those members as they are minors.
You can alternatively use this page for subscribing and will offer you the option to receive your newsletter in HTML (pretty graphics when I get them uploaded), but do NOT use both. If you subscribe using both pages you will be subscribed twice.
Do not forget about the Forums (and the super Secret Blogroll Stuff access) and how they can help us to communicate with each other. The forums may be particularly helpful during times I am unavailable (like during vacation) and when one of you knows an answer to someone else’s question, they don’t have to wait for me reply if I am out of town.
That’s it. Please enjoy.
