Curricula

(incomplete)
We do a four year cycle with History, Bible, Science, and parts of our Literature.

I. History, Geography, and Bible

  • A. Tapestry of Grace is the bulk of our curriculum as it includes History, Bible, Literature, Writing, Geography, Fine Arts. You can take or leave whatever parts you want making this curriculum your own. The first two years we used TOG I did not use the Writing Aids, but I have started incorporating this into our plans. Also some of the Bible lessons do not match up with our particular views (as we are Reformed, not Fundamentalist) so we pick and choose and discuss the differences with our children. I think it is important that children learn of other views and beliefs, but we discuss the differences and why we believe the way we do. One could easily leave out all of the Bible, Writing, and Fine Arts aspects if they already had other curricula for these. Would you like to explore a free three-week sample of TOG Year 1 Curriculum or perhaps order a free disc? How about a TOG Year 2 free disc? Seriously. Who does not like free?

We still love TOG, but I found that I could no longer properly balance the teaching prep work load with our home life with so many different levels to prepare and teach all of our children.

  • B. Sonlight
  • – This is now the main core of our studies. We still include some of our old favorites though.

  • C. Story of the World. Many of these are already included in TOG and Sonlight.
  • D. Veritas Press – Classical curriculum and History & Bible Cards.
  • E. Knowledge Quest – map and timeline aids
  • F. History Through the Ages by Homeschool in the Woods – Timeline books and figures. Absolutely beautiful work.
  • G. Homeschool in the Woods – awesome history helps with great time line aids
